Advocate for Physicians and Patients in Annapolis.
Join us to meet with your district’s legislators the morning of February 22, 2023. Physicians are needed to discuss: Prior Authorization and Step Therapy, Scope of Practice, Network Adequacy, Medicaid Parity and other topics. Please register HERE.
After you register below, we schedule your legislative meetings. On February 22, you can carpool with us or drive yourself. We will provide lunch for you and legislators at Harry Browne’s.
7:45 a.m. – Breakfast & briefing MedChi Annapolis office
8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – Appointments with Legislators
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – Watch House or Senate Session
11:00 a.m. – Appointments with the legislators
12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m. – Lunch at Harry Browne’s with county delegation
Legislators need to hear from you to understand how proposed legislation can potentially impact the practice of medicine in Maryland.
Other Ways to Contribute and Participate
Volunteer to serve as MedChi Physician of the Day in the Maryland State House during the Maryland General Assembly’s 2023 Legislative Session between January 11 to April 10.
What to expect: The first aid room in the Maryland State House is equipped with basic medical supplies and over-the-counter medications. A nurse is also on the premises every day to assist the MedChi Physician of the Day. Physicians have time to spend in the chambers observing the Senate and House. Emeritus physicians who have an active license are encouraged to participate.
Times to volunteer: Monday: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, & Friday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
What you will do:
- Receive a schedule of hearings and meetings that deal with health-related issues. The MedChi Physician of the Day is encouraged to attend these meetings.
- Spend your time visiting with legislators and visit the floor of the House of Delegates.
